Villagers in Rogate, Sussex, have flocked to experience the scent and sight of the vibrantly coloured flowers after they surprised locals by popping up four weeks ahead of schedule.
As with many flowering plants, the warm spring has brought forward the wonderful display in the idyllic 12th century village.
The flowers, which bring colour for about six weeks, have grown into something of a local attraction and our pictures show Polly Godson enjoying them with her one-year-old daughter, Isabella.
